Yolanda Delgado’s volleyball career started when she was 14 years old. From 1985 until 1996 Yolanda represented her country Peru starting as middle and right-side hitter for the national volleyball indoor team. Furthermore, Yolanda continued her successful career playing for Peru’s national Beach volleyball team. During those dedicated years, Yolanda earned multiple awards and recognition, including an honors award from the ex-Peruvian President.
Yolanda Delgado’s volleyball career involves several tournaments in which Delgado won many championships. Some highlighted tournament include; Five Worlds Cups (Japan, China, and Peru), Two goodwill games in the USA, Six South American Cups (Brazil, Argentina, and Peru), Grand Prix, Pan-American tournament (Cuba), the Olympic in Atlanta 1996, and many more international clubs tournaments.
In 2002 and 2003, Yolanda Delgado joined the Miami Dade College volleyball team in which her teammate and her won the NJCCA Championships.
For 5 years, Yolanda Delgado has run a successful volleyball Academy in Peru where several girls have progressed in their own volleyball career.
Lastly, Delgado’s coaching experiences include twelve years with Wildfire Volleyball Academy, three years with The Sagemont School, and one year with Franklin Academy. Currently Yolanda Delgado is an assistant coach at Miami Dade College.
Throughout all these accomplishment and experiences, Delgado has strengthened her ability to build strong competitive teams.
