Selene joined Wildfire Volleyball Academy in 2019. She is one of our National Team Coaches and Club Directors and oversees the I AM Volleyball Program.
Before joining Wildfire, she coached collegiate volleyball for 20 years, most recently at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. Before moving to Florida from Minnesota, she coached at Winona State University, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Bemidji State University where she received her Master’s of Science in Sports Studies. Selene is a California native and played collegiate volleyball at University of California- Santa Cruz and went on to play pro beach volleyball after graduating. She later became the head coach at UC Santa Cruz where she coached for 6 years finishing with two back to back 20 win seasons.
Selene is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, a CrossFit Level II Coach and holds certifications in Kettlebell Training, Olympic Lifting and Nutrition. If she’s not in the gym coaching, you can find her on the beach playing volleyball, at the CrossFit gym, playing pickleball, or at home with her husband and two dachshunds working on DIY home improvement projects.
