Maria Martha is from Santa Catarina, Brazil. She attended UNIVALI (University) and studied Communication and Arts in Journalism. Sports has been part of her life since elementary school in Brazil. Won several medals in track and field 4 years in a row.
Played years of tennis and swimming. Inspired by her brother, a great national athlete, her passion for volleyball started as a little kid, age 6.
Winning multiple medals for her club, (8 yo and up) Barão do Rio Branco, that she was proudly part of it for almost 10 years.

She had the honor to be discovered by one of the greatest coaches in her state, Artur Novaes,(in memorian), founder of the club. Their first encounter was at an outside cement court, where she was playing with young adults, barefoot,(age 6) and after that day, they were inseparable, practicing every week (4-5 hours a day) for the next 10 years. He was also the first coach of the 3 times Olympian Champion, one of the greatest of all times in Brazil, Ana Moser. Always supervised by her coach Artur, (due to her young age) she has also played for Sulfabril and Hering Volleyball Teams, two of the biggest companies at the time that invested in sports and prodigy athletes. She had the incredible opportunity to coach volleyball at the ADBLU Club for underprivileged young athletes and at the CCR Club (Cônsul Carlos Renaux) in Santa Catarina.

She has assisted and coached as a volunteer coach through government and
non-government volleyball programs during her father’s mandate as a State Secretary of Sport. Played Beach Volleyball for 12 years and competed in local/regional tournaments. She is now the head coach of Sagemont for the Elementary School.
Have coached the 12U Team at Wildfire last season and coaches at the IAM program as well.

“Volleyball is one of her greatest passions and it has tough me so much about discipline, sportsmanship, perseverance, ethics and dedication. Coaching is a great gift and creating beautiful memories one day at the time is just magical. I am so proud to be part of the Wildfire’s Family as an athlete’s mom and as a coach.”
