Rosen joins the NSU coaching staff after spending two years at Davidson College as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. In the past year, Rosen helped improve the Wildcats’ hitting percentage by over .100 and coached All-Academic and All-Atlantic 10 Conference team member Mason Rooney and A-10 All-Rookie member Ellie Crosley.
In addition to coaching for the Wildcats, Rosen also has been serving as the Carolina Juniors Club Director and National Team Head Coach since Nov. 2008. Since his start, he has coached seven consecutive teams to USAV National Championship bids and has also coached four consecutive recipients of the NC Gatorade Player of the Year award and one AVCA First Team All-American.
Prior to starting at Davidson, Rosen spent seven years (July 2009-May 2016) as the girl’s head volleyball coach at Charlotte Country Day School. During his tenure, he coached the program to an overall record of 169-66, earning two state championship and conference championship titles in 2013 and 2014. After those two stellar seasons, he was named the Charlotte Observer Coach of the Year. In 2012 and 2013, he was named the South Charlotte News & South Charlotte Weekly Coach of the Year while also being nominated as the AVCA National HS Coach of the Year in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In addition, he was honored with the AVCA Thirty Under 30 award in 2013; one of just two high school coaches to receive the honor.
Immediately before joining the Wildcats, Rosen served as the head coach at Providence High School, producing an undefeated regular season for conference and tournament titles, garnering 2016 Conference and South Charlotte Weekly Coach of the Year honors.
Since the start of his coaching career in 2005, Rosen has also spent time as a volunteer assistant coach at Winthrop and the head coach of the men and women’s club volleyball teams at the University of South Carolina.
Rosen earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport and Entertainment Management, graduating cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 2008. Originally from Altamonte Springs, Rosen will be joined in Fort Lauderdale by his wife Angelica and their daughter Bryce.
